Guillaume Fache

Logician. Foresight Practitioner. Chief Orchestrator.

“Omnia sunt in omnia et ubique” — All things are in all things, and everywhere.

Twenty-five years in IT have taught me one truth: the hardest problems aren’t technical — they’re human. The best solutions emerge from dialogue between different intelligences, perspectives, and disciplines.

I believe in harmony through clarity: when we reason together with precision, understanding becomes inevitable. Not debate against each other — but reasoning together.

A Career Built on Challenge

I don’t just work in challenging environments — I seek them out. Complexity, ambiguity, high stakes: these aren’t obstacles to avoid. They’re the conditions under which my best thinking emerges.

European Commission — Institutional Scale

From serving as Release Manager, navigating complex change management across development, business, and financial teams internally while coordinating with end-users externally, to contributing to the SUMMA program — the EU’s next-generation financial system replacing the ABAC platform after two decades of service. The European Commission doesn’t just test technical skills — it tests patience, diplomacy, and the ability to align stakeholders across languages, cultures, and competing priorities.

Banking & Finance — Regulatory Pressure

At Euroclear, I led a critical CSDR (Central Securities Depositories Regulation) compliance project. This EU regulation fundamentally reshaped how securities settlements operate across Europe, introducing mandatory central clearing and settlement discipline mechanisms. The stakes were absolute: non-compliance meant license revocation in Belgium. Every technical decision had to satisfy both regulatory requirements and operational reality.

At BNP Paribas Fortis, I managed strategic core banking projects implementing Goutry’s law (Belgian anti-money laundering legislation) and the OECD Automatic Exchange of Information standard. Goutry’s law required complete transformation of customer due diligence processes, transaction monitoring systems, and reporting mechanisms — a regulatory earthquake that reshaped how Belgian banks operate.

At MCS, I navigated the dual regulatory frameworks of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX) and BaLe 2 (Basel II). SOX demanded ironclad financial reporting controls and audit trails, while BaLe 2 required sophisticated risk management and capital adequacy calculations. In finance, precision isn’t optional — it’s existential.

Infrastructure & Architecture — Hybrid Complexity

At RGW IT, I orchestrated hybrid infrastructure deployments where on-premise control meets cloud elasticity. The reality? Organizations don’t choose one or the other — they need both, seamlessly integrated. That’s not a transition state. It’s the destination.

At Webnet, I architected web projects in complex environments, blending emerging web technologies with Microsoft Office integration tools and IBM Cognos BI solutions. This era taught me that true complexity isn’t just technical — it’s about making disparate systems work together seamlessly.

Military Service — Extreme Adaptability

8e Régiment de Parachutistes d’Infanterie de Marine

The French Marines parachutist regiment didn’t just teach me discipline — it forged adaptability and resilience to an extreme level. When not deployed on mission, I served in the regiment’s internal IT team. On deployment, I defended French interests: locally through Vigipirate civil security operations, and internationally during Operation Pelican 2 (Congo), IFOR peacekeeping mission in Yugoslavia, and Operation Epervier in Chad.

That military experience isn’t a line on my CV. It’s the foundation of how I approach every challenge: assess quickly, adapt faster, execute decisively.
